Why am I raising my prices?

New rates imminent – book me now before the price rise!

I’ll be introducing my shiny new rates for my editing services on 1 March 2023.

However, if you book in an edit or proofread by the end of February 2023, no matter how far in advance it is, you can still take advantage of my current prices (50% deposit is needed to secure the slot in my calendar).

Why am I raising my prices?

• Towards the end of last year, I achieved Professional membership status of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP). The CIEP is a prestigious organisation that promotes excellence in English language editing through training, setting standards, encouraging networking and more.
• As for all of us, each year brings more experience. Clients will profit from the many books, websites and other content that I have worked on before their project.
• I’m bringing my prices more in line with those of comparable services offered by other professional editors with a similar amount of experience. It seems my clients have been enjoying a bargain!
• Rising cost of living. Yes, this is a biggie. It costs me more to run my business, support my family and, well, live, as time goes on! Unfortunately, this means that I need to raise my prices (in effect, give myself a cost of living raise) to not be out of pocket.

Don’t forget that I offer paid sample edits and an edit of the first 10,000 words of your book, so you don’t have to commit to a full edit without testing the waters!
