Are you making these common writing errors, when you could be saving money and your editor’s time by learning how to fix them?

The 3 Most Common Writing Errors and how to fix them by Debbie Emmitt

A few months ago, I asked a question of the editors and proofreaders in my LinkedIn network:

What’s the most common issue that you correct?

I expected a wide variety of responses, covering a multitude of writing topics including grammar, spelling, punctuation and flow, ranging from simple to complex.

Instead, I saw the same three areas being reported over and over:

  • hyphens and dashes
  • capital letters
  • commas

This got me thinking.

What if authors could be given quick, clear guidance on these common writing errors, to reduce the errors in their work before it was passed to an editor? It would save authors money and editors time, a win for all concerned.

This free ebook aims to do just that.
